I registered already a few weeks ago, do I have to register again?

YES! The first 'registration' was to show if there are enough interested people, as it was written all over, and to collect ideas, this stage is over, now we want to know who is coming for sure.

When will the camp be?

Thursday, April 28th to Sunday, May 1st as core time. Please let us know when you expect to be here more or less (see registration info below). Everyone who comes earlier and leaves later will be expected to help with preparations and cleaning up. That will be fun though.

Where will the camp be?

The camp will take place in a community for artists, a former industrial building in the port of Scheveningen, called De Vloek van Scheveningen. The beach is nearby, the city centre of Scheveningen is 1 km and city centre of Den Haag is 4km the away. In the main hall of the building is plenty of space for up to 200 people at daytime for workshops and to hang around. In the night there will be about 25 staple beds (for 50 people) where you can put your camping mattress and sleeping bag. You need a warm sleeping bag and warm clothes for during the evening, when you like to sit in the lounge corner, because the hall is not insulated and can be pretty cold if the weather is bad. There is also a vegetarian bar / restaurant in the building and they will prepare cheap and tasty meals especially for us.

SLEEPING

We have only accommodation for ~100 people. Everybody should come first to the meeting place and we will sort out it out there who needs what. Half of them will be accommodated in the port (It will be a really big crowd, so don't expect any real quiet or privacy during those days). The others are hosted at people's houses in Scheveningen and the rest in Den Haag. Bring your sleeping bag and a camping mattress. You can also pitch your tent on the little beach next to the building of De Vloek van Scheveningen (or inside the building). Wild camping further North on the beach of Scheveningen is also possible, but on your own risk. A few tents can be put in a garden of one of the hosts.

FRIENDS+FAMILY

Sure, you can bring friends and family - this should be a good opportunity to fascinate them with the club. But you have to tell us how many and their names when you register (see registration info below)! Yes, children are welcome!

How many people will come?

There will be will be 100 +/- 20 people, but who knows.. there will be one million on the streets on Queensday!

FOOD & DRINKS

There is a vegetarian bar / restaurant in the building and they will sell drinks and prepare cheap (Dutch Prices) and tasty meals especially for us. But there are also cheap supermarkets 15 minutes walk from the place, so you can always go there and buy more food. Keep in mind though that supermarkets do not open on Sundays or during the night in the Netherlands. ATTENTION: Please don't bring any meat and respect the vegetarian attitude of the community which offers us the place.

COSTS

As the community asks for money for using their place, the camp fee will be €10 per person which will have to be paid on arrival.

Additional to this you have to buy your own food+drinks, and you might also need money if you use the public transport here in Den Haag to get to the hosts places, entries to museums or such.

WEATHER

We can all just pray to the weather Gods that we will have good, warm weather. But please bring warm enough clothes for during the day and evening, when you like to sit in the lounge corner, because the hall is not insulated and can be pretty cold if the weather is bad. Remember, we are half camping!

ACTIVITIES

The camp will be a great opportunity to just hang out with fellow HC members, get to know them, talk and socialize. Come relaxed, you can hang around in the fabric the whole time - there will always be someone around. But we have also a lose program in which you can take part (check out the program) and there are many activities you can do additional in groups together.

PLEASE BRING

A bit flexibility, Music instruments and ideas and materials for workshops you could do (get in contact with us when you need additional materials) Otherwise just come with a helpful attitude and help where it is needed, we need helping hands everywhere.

INTERNET

There will be no Internet access at the camp. After all, this is one of the occasions where we all can get away from the computer :-) There are free Internet access points and Internet cafes in Scheveningen and Den Haag.

RIDE SHARING

Members are coming from all directions and surrounding countries. Some people have already posted the first ride offers in the Forum. If you want to join other members and go together by car, train or hitchhiking, and especially if you come by car and can take people with you, please post it into the camp thread. >>klick here<< You can also see who is coming on the webpage and contact members in your area directly.
